Factory Digital Informatization Overview

The shop floor terminal, also known as the industrial touch workstation and smart MES terminal, is a core HMI(Mensch-Maschine-Interaktion) panel PC terminal for smart workshops. It does not undertake complex business logic calculations independently, but serves as a unified shop-floor interactive portal and front-end operation carrier for clients, web portals, and data collection programs. Centered on MES system docking, this multi-system compatible industrial terminal bridges the entire upstream and downstream factory software ecology, breaks IT and OT data silos, and realizes full-link digital interconnection from the enterprise management layer, workshop execution layer, to on-site equipment layer. It supports the full suite of factory information systems and builds a closed-loop intelligent manufacturing management system for full factory informatization.

1. Upper-layer Information Systems (Two-way Interconnection with MES)

1.1 ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning System)

ERP delivers production orders, BOM data, and material demand plans to MES. MES feeds real-time production reporting, material consumption, and finished warehousing data back to ERP. As a unified workshop operation carrier, the shop floor terminal supports on-site work order inquiry, material shortage verification, and production completion confirmation. It accesses ERP data indirectly through MES interfaces to ensure stable and unified data logic, realizing reliable IT-layer data interconnection.

1.2 APS (Advanced Planning and Scheduling System)

APS releases optimized capacity scheduling plans to MES dynamically. MES returns real-time production capacity and abnormal feedback to support rescheduling. 1.3 PLM / PDM (Product Lifecycle Management System)

PLM synchronizes product drawings, version-based BOM files, and standardized process documents to MES and ESOP systems. MES pushes pending inspection tasks to the workstation. It supports first-piece inspection, patrol inspection data entry, defect scanning, cause selection, and full-product traceability inquiry, realizing full-process quality data recording and tracing.

1.6 SRM (Supplier Relationship Management System)

For incoming material inspection stations, the industrial touch workstation can display supplier delivery orders and incoming quality issues. 2. Shop Floor Auxiliary Software (On-site Operation & Anzeige)

As a local running carrier and visualized operation terminal for shop-floor auxiliary software, the industrial touch workstation supports one-stop loading and linkage of all mainstream workshop auxiliary systems, realizing paperless, visualized, and standardized on-site management, and optimizing lean production execution on the workshop floor.

2.1 ESOP (Electronic Standard Operating Procedure)

Independent or MES-embedded electronic SOP system. The industrial HMI terminal automatically matches work orders to display process documents, operation videos, and assembly diagrams. It links with MES workflow to synchronously update SOP content when production orders switch, replacing traditional paper manuals and realizing paperless workshop operation.

2.2 Andon System

Built-in one-click Andon buttons for material shortage, equipment failure, and quality abnormality. Through the on-site intelligent workstation, on-site alarms are pushed synchronously to production dashboards and management mobile terminals to accelerate problem handling and reduce line downtime, improving workshop emergency response efficiency.

2.3 SPC (Statistical Process Control System)

As a professional on-site data collection terminal, the industrial touch workstation collects on-site measurement data in real time, displays process CPK values and control charts, and monitors production process fluctuations to realize early quality risk warning and process stability control, supporting refined process quality management.

2.4 OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness System)

Docking with on-site equipment data, the shop-floor terminal intuitively displays equipment utilization rate, downtime duration, and real-time defective rate, providing accurate data support for equipment performance analysis and production optimization, and realizing data-driven equipment efficiency management.

3. Bottom-layer OT Equipment Data Collection System

The shop floor terminal serves as a professional on-site data collection and transfer gateway for the OT layer, supporting multi-protocol docking with industrial equipment to collect real-time operating data and upload to MES and upper management systems, realizing stable IT/OT data interconnection and bottom-layer equipment data acquisition.

3.1 SCADA System

SCADA unifies and summarizes operating parameters of PLC and production equipment. The smart workshop workstation realizes real-time viewing of equipment status, Temperatur, pressure, and production tact data to support visualized workshop monitoring and equipment operation supervision.

3.2 PLC, CNC and Robotic Equipment

Supports mainstream industrial protocols including Modbus TCP/RTU, OPC tun, S7, and MC protocols. As a multi-protocol compatible industrial HMI terminal, the workstation directly collects equipment counting data and operating status signals to complete real-time data uploading and production data synchronization.

3.3 Visual Inspection System (AOI / SPI / Vision Camera)
